Government of Manipur to declare every Saturday as ‘No school bag day’
The Government of Manipur is going to announce every Saturday as ‘No school bag day’ for students studying from class 1 to class 8 in all schools in the state, whether it’s private, government-aided or government school. The government has taken this step to provide a happy environment for the children in the school.
Commissioner of Education Tha Radheshyam Singh in an office memorandum on 3rd September said that ‘students in classes 1 to 8 are always found to be engaged with regular tasks related to the school curriculum. Additional household chores are difficult to accomplish. Further showing his concern for the students he added that Life skill activities including sports and extracurricular activities etc. can help in their personality development and students can engage in other creative activities’.
Therefore, works are being done for the overall development of students by creating a happy environment for education in schools. To fulfill this goal, the government has decided to declare Saturday as ‘No School Bag Day‘.
