The NVS Selection test will be of 2 hours duration started from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Selection test will have 3 sections of only objective type of questions. There will be 80 questions all for 100 marks.

Important points

  • A single text booklet consist of all the 3 sections of objective type of questions additional ,30 minutes are allowed to students” differently abled students”.
  • Selection test will be done on OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheets, Candidates must use ball point pen for filling the correct answers in OMR sheets.
  • Candidates must bring their own ball point pen to the exam centre; use of pencil is strictly not permitted.
  • Candidates should fill the answer in accurate circle and darken the correspondence circle correctly.
  • Test booklet question consist of 4 options of answer, one answer option will be correct, Candidate must select the correct answer and darken the corresponding circle.
  • No change in the darken circle or use of eraser /Whitefield will be permitted
  • 25 marks will be allotted to candidate for every correct answer.
  • No negative marking.

Selection test will be conducted in many languages allotted to candidates state-wise. Candidates must go through the notification link provided to check the language of selection test state-wise.

 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya NVS Entrance Documents required

The parents of the candidates who are provisionally selected for admission will have to submit the following documents at the time of admission for verification

  1. Date of birth certificate.
  2. Eligibility of student as per the condition of NVS.
  3. For rural quota: certificate from the competent authority proving that the child had studied in school/institute of rural area.
  4. Residence certificate(only NIOS study)
  5. Check the notification link for more details and other documents.

JNVST NVS Entrance Exam preparation Tips

Important tips for exam:

  1. Before attempting any question initially candidate must read the instructions mentioned on the cover page of the text booklet as well as those for each section carefully.
  2. Candidates should check that the language of the text booklet is same as he/she choose at the time of filling application form .and candidate should get it change before the exam started..It is the responsibility of the candidate to confirm the language of the text booklet opted is correct or not according to his/her understanding no action against this will be taken after the examination is over, no late complains will be answered.
  3. The total time given to the candidates appearing in exam will be of 2 hours .with no break.
    Extra 30 minutes of time is provided to “divyang students “(differently abled students).
  4. Students are advised not to spend much extra time on each section than suggested, although students are free to adjust the total time.
  5. Candidates must acquire the minimum marks (decided by NVS board) to qualify this exam.
  6. There will be a bell ringing after every 30 minutes.
